Why do some people who eat meat hate hunters?

I don't get it. I hear people who eat meat (mostly young girls) say they hate hunters, because something about them killing animals... So to me it seems they are in total support of factory farming which is truly cruel whereas hunting a wild animal gives it a chance for survival and not to mention its been living a free life up until its killed. If it wasn't for hunting none of us would be here today and many traditional human cultures still depend on it for their survival.
