What is Australia going to do about the cane toads?

They have started coming into our area and I'm really worried about my pets who are known frog catchers! Are we just going to be stuck with the slimy bastards forever or can anything be done to stop them? My science teacher showed us a movie about them yesterday and how wherever they go they wipe out snake and lizard species and kill thousands of pets with their poison and I'm freaking out!
