Have you ever killed a deer with a .45 auto?

Or any other semi-auto handgun? I killed a doe with an old Colt 1911 back in January. I've always carried it on me while hunting, but never used it until this year. And people act like I'm lying or stupid. It's not that uncommon, is it?
