Getting SIA security qualified, what kind of work and is it worth doing the course?

Thinking of doing this for a job. Is it worth it? I have no experience in this area, but heard a guy say he got lots of cash in hand work through people he knew doing this on a building site. Earned great money doing very little work. I am tall and well built do you need any fighting qualifications to prove how "hard" you are?
