Why do conservatives think they're doing a good thing by trying to end abortion? why are they deluded?

Depending on how far along the pregnancy is, a foetus can most certainly feel pain. However I think people who are trying to end abortion have very black and White thinking and also don't realise that women don't have abortions for the hell of it. Most go through turmoil about the decision but believe it is the best decision for them and the unborn child.
